John Coleman founded The Weather Channel and was the original weathercaster on ABC's Good Morning America. He earned a journalism degree from the University of Illinois in 1957 and obtained the American Meteorological Society's Professional Meteorologist membership. After 61 years on television, he retired in April 2014.
